MedValet coordinates orthopedic surgery in Medellín, Colombia, for North American patients. Founded in 2025, we work with a small, deliberately selected medical team of orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and nursing staff. Swiss and French by nationality, Edmond spent a decade in luxury hospitality, largely in Zurich, with time in Cartagena starting in 2016 and later Medellín, before founding MedValet in 2025. The company was born from personal experience: over several years, he coordinated private medical care in Colombia for friends and family members who were struggling to organize it from abroad. What began as favors became a repeatable model.
MedValet exists to offer the seriousness of a proper medical pathway with the warmth and coordination that Swiss hospitality trained him to deliver.
Edmond set MedValet's founding standard: every patient is accompanied to every medical appointment by their Patient Journey Director. He fulfills that role personally at this stage of the company, and as the team grows, each new Patient Journey Director will be trained to the same standard.
Edmond is a native German and French speaker, and fluent in English and Spanish. He answers WhatsApp himself, including at 11 PM if it comes to it.
MedValet’s knee replacement pathway is led by Dr. Alejandro Jaramillo and Dr. Paula Sarmiento. Both are specialists in orthopedics and traumatology with advanced knee-focused training, and both operate together from incision to closure on every MedValet knee replacement. Certified physiotherapist from Fundación Universitaria María Cano (2008), Lina specializes in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and myofascial induction, with advanced training in manual therapy at Universidad de la Sabana. For MedValet knee replacement patients, Lina delivers in-home physiotherapy sessions from the first day post-op through departure.
Certified physiotherapist from Universidad CES (2022), Mariana specializes in orthopedic manual therapy and post-surgical knee rehabilitation, with international certifications in dry needling and craniocervicomandibular manual therapy (CAAFYR, 2025). For MedValet knee replacement patients, Mariana delivers in-home physiotherapy sessions during your stay, and continues remote physiotherapy sessions through your first six weeks of home recovery.
Diana Pino is one of MedValet's post-operative nurses. She provides in-home nursing care during the recovery window, including the overnight monitoring shift after surgery, daily DVT injections, wound checks, medication management, and the coordination of any additional clinical support your recovery calls for.
